What is Classical Osteopathy?
Classical osteopathy is a whole-body approach to health based on the understanding that the body’s structure and function are closely connected. Everyday activities, work, stress, injuries, and life experiences can influence how the body moves and adapts over time.
Using gentle, hands-on techniques, an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner assesses the body as a connected unit and works to improve mobility, reduce restrictions, and restore balance within the muscles, joints, and connective tissues. Rather than focusing only on the area where symptoms are felt, treatment considers how the whole body is functioning as a dynamic unit.
Every treatment is tailored to the individual and how their body presents that day. By encouraging better movement and coordination throughout the body, osteopathic care aims to support the body’s natural ability to self-regulate and maintain healthy function.

FAQs
What should I wear to my appointment?
1
Please wear comfortable, loose clothing that you can move in. For your safety and comfort, I will also ask you to remove your hat, glasses, belt, and bulky jewelry if applicable.
Is manual osteopathic treatment covered by extended health care insurance and do you offer direct billing?
2
Yes, many extended health care benefit plans cover osteopathy. Please check your specific plan to confirm coverage and amount.
Direct billing is available for most major insurance providers. Alberta Blue Cross does not offer direct billing for osteopathy, however, a receipt will be issued to you which you are able to submit for reimbursement.
Do you offer a mobile service?
3
Yes, I currently offer a mobile service intended for seniors and individuals with mobility constraints.
After booking, you will be contacted to confirm your address. If two or more members of your household would like to receive treatment during the same visit, please contact me with each individual’s name, email, and preferred appointment start time.
How many treatments will I need and how often should I come for treatment?
4
The amount of treatments needed is unique to each person as everyone responds to treatment differently. We will discuss your individual goals during your initial appointment. Longer standing restrictions tend to take longer to resolve.
Typically, it is beneficial to have appointments closer together in the beginning then becoming less frequent later on. The ultimate goal is to help put your body in a place where you do not have to rely on frequent treatment.
